The Real Life Mowgli. Dina Sanichar.
“Dina Sanichar”, the boy who was raised by a pack of wild wolves.
Between 1841 and 1895, 14 wild children were found in northern India. They were alone in the open, and of those 14, half were documented by General W.H. Sleeman in his book “A Journey Through the Kingdom of Oude”.
The general wrote in his book:
“Wolves are numerous in Sultanpoor, in the vicinity of the Goomtree River and its gorges; and a large number of children are brought there from cities, towns and fields ”.
“These children have obvious signs, on their knees and elbows of having walked on all fours, and when asked to run, they did so fast that no one could beat them,”
That takes us to the year 1867, when a group of hunters entered a jungle and found a boy no older than 6 years. The child, was completely alone, could not speak, only emitting sounds similar to a “howl” and walked on all fours.
The hunters took him to an orphanage, in that orphanage they tried to teach him to walk and talk, they gave him the name “Dina Sanichar”.
